How it works

Three steps.
No forms, no fees,
no confusion.

A volunteer counsellor who speaks your language reviews every shortlist before you see it.

Begin now — it takes 7 minutes →
01

Tell us about your child

Answer six plain-language questions — grade, neighbourhood, what your child loves. Speak your answers aloud if typing is harder.

02

Get a shortlist you can trust

Schools ranked by fit and real aid history — every deadline, document and interview date translated into your language.

03

Walk in with a volunteer beside you

A trained parent-volunteer joins your calls and tours, checks your aid forms, and stays with you until your child is enrolled.

Why LaunchPad

Built on facts, kindness and privacy.

Real aid history, not guesses

We show what schools actually gave families like yours last year — the award sizes, not the brochure promises.

A human who speaks your language

Not a chatbot. A trained volunteer parent calls you back and stays with you until your child is enrolled.

Your data stays yours

No account, no immigration questions, nothing sold. Ask us to delete your notes and it's gone the same day.

Languages we speak

Guidance in the language you speak at home.

Eight languages today, added by volunteer translators — not machines. Don't see yours? Tell us and we'll find a volunteer.

What families say

In their words, in their language.

I filled out the wrong form twice. Nobody laughed at me here. Rocío called me on a Sunday and we did it together, in Spanish, step by step.

We thought private school was only for rich families. My daughter got 80% of tuition covered. I still keep the letter in my bag.

My English is slow when I am nervous. At the interview a volunteer sat next to me, and for the first time I asked all my questions.

Our story

Built by the parents who had to figure it out alone.

In 2019 four families in Queens missed the same aid deadline because nobody had translated it. We started LaunchPad so the next family wouldn't. Today a network of volunteer counsellors — most of them immigrant parents themselves — keeps every school profile current and every deadline understood.

Community-funded

Grants and small donations — never school referral fees.

Privacy first

No accounts, no immigration questions, no data sold.

Questions families ask

Straight answers, no small print.

Still unsure? Call our helpline at (718) 555-0148 — someone who speaks your language will pick up.

Is it really free?+

Yes — for every family, at every step. We are a registered nonprofit funded by grants and donors. Schools cannot pay for placement or ranking.

Do you ask about immigration status?+

Never. We don't ask, store or share it. You don't even need an account to get a shortlist.

Do I need documents?+

Not to start. To see schools and aid history you need nothing at all. Later, schools may ask for a report card or proof of address — your volunteer will tell you exactly what and help you gather it.

What if my English isn't strong?+

That is exactly who we are for. Read everything in your language, speak your answers instead of typing, and bring a volunteer to translate on calls, tours and interviews.

How do you pick schools?+

By fit and by real numbers: travel time from your home, what your child likes, and how much aid the school actually gave families last year. Schools cannot pay to appear or rank higher.

Who are the volunteers?+

Mostly immigrant parents who went through this themselves, plus retired school counsellors. Every volunteer is background-checked and trained before meeting a family.

What if we miss a deadline?+

Your volunteer tracks every date with you and calls schools about late aid rounds — many accept applications well past the published date.

Every family deserves a fair shot.

Your child's next school is out there. Let's find it together — a volunteer beside you, in your language, at no cost.
